The unspoken secrets of the e-cigarette industry

E-cigarettes were originally developed as a way to quit smoking, but there's really no evidence that they work.

As a result, many e-cigarette brands are positioning themselves as replacements, following a study by Public Health England that found e-cigarettes were 95% less harmful than cigarettes.

It's true that e-cigarettes are directly heated and atomized with nicotine, which does not contain the harmful substances of traditional cigarettes such as tar and flame retardants, thus differentiating them from traditional cigarettes. Therefore, the vast majority of e-cigarettes on the market have a healthier and safer human device.

"Maybe e-cigarettes are getting the blame for THC," said a senior e-cigarette industry insider. Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a psychoactive chemical found in cannabis. There is also a similar cannabis substance called cannabidiol (CBD) that has no psychoactivity. The former can produce hallucinogenic effects, while the latter has pharmacological effects such as anti-spasticity, anti-anxiety and anti-inflammatory, which has high medical value.

In one study, 83 percent of the patients reported using THC before they became ill. Another 17 percent said they only used nicotine-containing nicotine, but it is not ruled out that they did not want to admit that they had illegally purchased THC products.



This has been one of the unspoken secrets of the recent vape world.

Another dirty secret is that the ban on non-tobacco-flavored e-cigarettes was prompted by the fact that the majority of vaping-related deaths occur in people under the age of 25.

The idea that e-cigarettes are safer than conventional tobacco has not collapsed, but their safety becomes problematic when the vaping oil is mixed with other ingredients, such as the hallucinogenic THC. The more considerations behind the policy, the less clear is the future of e-cigarettes.



But there's also a need to curb teen access to e-cigarettes, and many e-cigarette brands have announced their own plans:
